In the spring of 2024, my dear wife Evie wrote the following poem for the blossoming magnolia in our front garden. Sometimes she makes poems for my paintings, but this time I wanted to make a painting for her poem. In the foreground is the top of the blossoming magnolia tree in our front garden seen from our bedroom window. In the background, the contours of the still bare trees stand out against the sky. A bird flies in the distance. The trumpet in the sky is the oldest trumpet on earth, found in the tomb of Tutankhamun. Just as the trumpet in ancient times announced that important news would follow, the magnolia blossom announces the imminent arrival of spring.

Magnolia is painted on a 90x120 cm linen canvas. The painting is framed and can be hung immediately upon receipt. It is signed on the painting and a certificate of authenticity will be included.
